How MAYN works
MAYN is a marketplace. We do not own the cars. We verify the people who do, publish their real terms, and run the search and booking experience that connects the two sides.
For customers
Search a real window
Choose your city and your exact pickup and return times. Results only include vehicles that are genuinely free for that window, because availability is checked against live provider calendars rather than a form that emails someone.
Compare on the terms that matter
Every listing publishes its rate for your window, the miles included per day, what an extra mile costs, the security deposit the provider will hold, and the minimum age they enforce. Those numbers are the difference between a good rental and an argument at the counter.
Book or request
Some providers accept instant bookings. Most review each request first, and have a fixed window to accept. Either way your dates are held from the moment you submit, so nobody else can take the car while a provider is deciding.
Coordinate on the platform
Pickup details, delivery arrangements and any questions run through MAYN messaging, so there is a record. If something goes wrong, that record is what lets us help.
How pricing works
Providers publish rates in blocks: 30 minutes, an hour, four hours, a day, three days. When your window does not match a block exactly, MAYN quotes the cheapest combination of that provider’s published blocks that covers it. If a full day costs less than five hourly blocks, you are charged for the day. You are never quoted a worse combination than one you could have assembled yourself.
Rentals shorter than a provider’s smallest block are charged at that smallest block, and the listing says so before you book.
Where our money comes from
The customer pays the listed price. MAYN keeps a percentage and the provider is paid the rest. Currently: Percentage commission at 20.0%.
Payment processing is not live yet. Bookings record the full quote and the provider arranges payment directly until the payment flow has completed legal and insurance review.
For providers
Apply
Tell us who you are, what you operate and who insures it. Applications are reviewed by a person.
Get verified
We check business registration or proof of ownership, identity, and a commercial policy that permits rental to third parties. A personal auto policy does not qualify.
List each vehicle
Add the specification, your pricing blocks, mileage terms and rental requirements. Each listing is reviewed individually before it goes live.
Control your calendar
Accept or decline requests, block dates for service or personal use, and pause a listing entirely. Bookings and blocks share one calendar that cannot be double booked.
What we are responsible for, and what we are not
MAYN operates the marketplace: verification, listings, search, booking, messaging and reviews. The rental agreement itself is between you and the provider. They own the vehicle, they insure it, they hand it over and they take it back.
That is not a way of avoiding responsibility - it is how the model works, and being straight about it is better than discovering it after something has gone wrong. Where a provider fails to honour a confirmed booking, contact us and we will act on it, including removing providers from the platform.
